How it works
Two ways to play
- Points game, free: pick a nickname and save your picks. Points add up on a 28-night leaderboard.
- Nightly pot: connect a wallet and buy tickets with your picks in Sepolia test ETH. The night's best tickets share the pot.
- Same three picks either way, and you can do both.
The night
A night runs from 12:00 to 12:00 UTC, the same day the Squeekchain API uses. Picks for a night close the moment it starts, so you pick the next night while you watch the current one. You can change your picks until then.
Points
- Distance: 30, 20, 10 or 5 points within 0.25, 0.5, 1 or 2 km. Closest guess of the night gets 10 more.
- Peak window: 20 for the right 3 hours, 5 for the window next to it.
- Blocks: 15 for calling more or fewer correctly.
Results
Distance and peak come from closed, accepted rounds, so they settle once the night's data is in. Blocks come from blocks settled on Ethereum, counted by when they settled. If a market has a data gap, a tie or a night off, it doesn't count: no points either way.
The pot
- Every ticket costs the same, and a wallet can hold up to 5 tickets a night, each with its own picks.
- When the night's results are in, the top 3 tickets by that night's points split the pot 50/30/20, or 62.5/37.5 with two tickets. Ties go to the closer distance guess, then the earlier ticket.
- Winnings are sent to your wallet automatically. A bot checks every hour and pays the winners. There's nothing to claim.
- Refunds you take back yourself. With one ticket or no result, the night is voided and a "Take back" button shows on your ticket and in My tickets. It costs a little gas.
- If a night isn't paid out within 3 days, the same button appears, so money can't get stuck. Nobody, the owner included, can take the pot.
Nothing here can make him run, and nothing should. He's never woken up to mine, and quiet nights are part of the game. If the operator's device reports wrong data, results follow it, which is one more reason the pot only uses test ETH.
